Esther Ann Furr Dec. 7, 1915 - Aug. 19, 2003

Esther Ann Furr, 87, resident of County Care Nursing Center, Williamsport, and formerly of Mellott and Hillsboro, died 2:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Vincent Williamsport Hospital. Mrs. Furr was employed as a tester for Radio Material Corp., Attica, for 27 years, retiring in 1977. Her memberships included Hillsboro Church of the Nazarene. She attended Veedersburg High School. She was born Dec. 7, 1915, at Attica to Clair Randall and Mary Belle Idle Cook. She married Donald Paul Furr on Dec. 7, 1935, at Veedersburg. He died Aug. 3, 2003. Survivors include four daughters, Beverly Levaseur, Fort Fair, Maine, Carolyn Coffing, Crawfordsville, Janice Boman, Kingman, and Sharon Davis, Wheatland, Calif.; three sons, Donald William, Newtown, Marvin, Attica, and Terell, Kingman; a brother, Marion Cook, Veedersburg; a sister, Violet May Osborn, Danville, Ind.; 21 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. A son, Norman Dean Furr; a brother, Eugene Cook; a sister, Lucille Berlin; and a granddaughter, Penny Sue Crowder, are deceased. Funeral services are scheduled 11 a.m. Thursday Maus Funeral Home, Attica, with Pastor Greg McDonald officiating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Williamsport. Friends may call 5-8 p.m. today in the funeral home.
